May I have eyes to see in children's eyes
The plea for understanding I can give.
May sympathy and friendship be the spark
That kindles growing strength to be and live.
May knowledge seem a shining, open door
That leads to world beyond our random view.
May fullness of the earth and all therein
Become our thrilling slate of things to do.
May keen young minds and hearts learn vital skills
But most of all the sense to raise a doubt.
The world needs question, burning seekers, Lord,
To turn our old illusions inside out.
